I don’t think there’s really a 5LINX Scam – is there?

I recently got a call from an old friend of mine, Scott.  Scott is quite new to network marketing and was told about a 5Linx scam.  I hadn’t heard much about this company, so being a good friend, I did some research.  From where I sit, most scam claims are from people that have had either no success, or have quit before making any money.

5LINX is a company that distributes many different products in the technology arena.  From VOIP, energy plans, security systems, internet access, satellite plans, and even debit machines for businesses. 5LINX provides services across 20 countries – so It’s important to understand what contributes to claims that there may be a scam, since they seem to be doing quite well.

5LINX scam claims are usually from 3 sources:

1. Claims will come from past distributors that have had very limited success.  These distributors probably worked the opportunity using old-school techniques, or using replicated information that the company provided.  There is a lot to be said for a “business in a box”, however you need to take the business out of the box for it to actually work.
2. 5Linx scam claims are also coming from people who have never worked in the business, or any network marketing business for that matter.  Is it really fair to take business advice from someone that has never done it successfully before?  Not a chance.
3. New distributors in the business, that have dreams of becoming a millionaire overnight but realize that there is actually work involved in building a business.

The truth about the 5LINX Scam

So based on the research, it seems that this company is a decent opportunity and is likely no less a scam than than any other business.  If you are considering a business at all, it is likely going to take a lot of hard work, dedication, and persistence.  Without these traits, the business doesn’t really matter as much as you do.

The truth is that building any home business, regardless of the product or service comes down to 2 things – Leadership and Marketing.  Unfortunately you cannot lead people unless you have people to lead, and that’s where marketing comes into play.

Most network marketers run out of leads and money, well before they have a chance at being successful.  But with the internet, and the tools available in the marketplace, you have the ability to generate an endless stream of interested people, if only you had something they needed -a way to generate leads on auto-pilot.
